Tomestones, tomestones…

Dont get me wrong. I love the time and effort the devs put into FFXIV’s gameplay and systems. I love that we can expect certain patches to bring certain content.

I do love that the devs are using this as a means to give newer players a chance to earn things that have since passed beyond availability, or items that people tend to farm less, like older primal mounts. 

I do find it a bit weird that they are including the Stormblood wolf mounts though. I’m not sure how every data center’s PF situation is but on crystal (which is notorious for people leaning far more toward casual and RP gameplay instead of hardcore efforts) you can still find wolf mount farm parties pretty easily.

But I am so sick of tomestones. We now have another Moogle treasure trove event, which means another set of tomes to collect. I generally don’t go out of my way to collect them, because I hate grinding dungeons, and I tend to have a decent number of the rewards already. 

I don’t think I have the answer, I am not a smart man, but I just want to do something new. I no longer derive joy from amassing mountains of these relics to give to Rowena or her counterparts. I am weary of the entire motif. I’m weary of the Allagans. I’m ready for something new. Like, I know that there will still be ‘fun token’ currency so that everyone can have an equal chance at obtaining their set pieces. So I know that whether its azerite, or tomestones, or cruor; I know that you’re going to have to repeat content to earn them to get your dungeon tier gear.

But god…I am so tired of tomestones. So very tired.
